Things to do in Rockaway Beach Oregon

  • Troxel's Gem Shop

Wizard of Oz themed Mini Golf is located @ Troxels.

  • Oregon Smokehouse

Award winning clam chowder. Fresh & delicious seafood. Seating is covered & outdoors.

  • Pirate ship park

This is a fenced playground right @ the Wayside with easy access to the beach

  • Warehouse 10

Huge shop full of fun gifts to take home. One of my most favorite things i've seen here is the swag that says "housewives of Rockaway Beach". They recently opened a new shop down the road called "Barview Station Gift Shop"

  • Seabreeze Ice Cream & gifts

Aka Purple Candy Shop. They sell kites & beach toys as well as ice cream! The fudge is amazing!

  • Flamingo Jims

A super fun shop in downtown Rockaway. You will know you are @ Flamingo Jims when you are standing outside a turqouise building with lots of fun yard art.

  • Ride on Oregon Coast Scenic Train

Starting in either or Garibaldi or Rockaway Beach schedule a round trip for yourself & the family! You can get close to the Three Graces, view the wildlife (we saw an eagles nest, cormorants & lots of blue herons last time), & just admire the scenery.

  • Pronto Pup

Home of the first corn dog! The corn dog was invented in the 1930s in Rockaway Beach! Not only can you get regular meat corn dogs but there are also options for pickle dogs, cheese dogs & more! They also carrying soft serve ice cream.

  • Sand Dollar Restaurant

Oceanfront dining! With a bar for the 21 + crowd.

  • Crabbing @ Kellys Marina

For a crabbing experience! This is a must for people that want to catch & eat but don't like cleaning or cooking the crab! If you want to you can borrow a boat to take further into the bay or just crab off their docks. You can buy butter & drinks there. Next time i'm bringing my own mashed potatoes though so I can have my favorite meal.

  • Nedonna Beach

This beach is just north of Rockaway Beach proper. Take a left right after the high school & you can take the first left to Manhattan Beach or you can continue north to explore the jetty area. Usually there is lots of good driftwood to admire & lots of beach!

  • Old Growth Nature Preserve

Or as I call it the "Big Cedar Tree Hike". About a 1.1 mile walk around this ADA accessible boardwalk. When you get to the end you will find the big cedar tree. The boardwalk winds around the tree so you can get up close & really take in how old it is.

  • Rockaway City Park

Take your littles to run around this playground! There is a grassy area for soccer, football, running around etc.

  • Go into all the local shops!

Shopping!!!! Take some time, stroll down the streets of Rockaway & walk into all of the shops. There are some cute clothes, gifts to bring back with you for the family, etc. Ive already mentioned some of my favorites but here are others : My Essential collections, Oregon Du Drops, The Little Crow & Simply Charming.

  • Visit one of the bakery/coffee shops.

You have 2 to choose from; Rockaway Roastery & Beach Bakeshop. Rockaway Roastery is a great place to sit down & have lunch or coffee/pastry from another local baker. Beach Bakeshop always has delicious baked goods made in house! Don't sleep on their savory hand pies & soups!

  • Upper Crust Pizza/Littoral

Go to Upper Crust for pizza with the kids. If you have someone who can watch the kids check out Littoral. Littoral is inside Upper Crust & is a super cool bar with great drinks!

  • Barview

The Campground is a great place to bring your bikes & explore. There is a playground in the middle of the park. Check out The Barview little store where they serve yummy pizza & have the things you need for fishing & crabbing.

The Three Graces

The three rock formation in between Garibaldi & Barview. At low tide walk down the tracks to the rocks & explore the tide pools.
